COMPLEMENT OF A SET

If the universal set U = (1,2,3,5,6,8,9) and the set A = (2,5,8) where A ∁ U

Then, we call the set (1,3,6,9).The complement of set A with regard to the set U.

That set is written as A^{c = (1,3,6,9) and it defined as a set of the elements in U that does not belong to the set A.}

It is denoted by the symbol A and written as

A = (1,3,6,9)
